Dakota’s current title, description and specification list identify this as the shell only, with battery and charger excluded. The page also retains an older graphic saying a battery is included. Use the explicit shell-only package description and confirm the order contents with Dakota if there is any doubt. Do not price it as a ready-to-use battery system.
What can you connect?
The listed connections include dual USB ports, a 12V car socket and binding posts, plus built-in LED lights and a voltage display. The manufacturer describes a case built for its 12V 10Ah battery. Check battery fit, connector requirements and permitted current for your device before assembling a setup. A compatible socket alone does not establish that a load is suitable.
Is it waterproof?
Despite the product title, Dakota’s technical notes say water-resistant, not submersible, and require the socket caps to be replaced. Keep those conditions in mind when planning storage in a boat or at camp. We have not independently tested the enclosure.
Who should shortlist it?
It is a useful format to investigate for small DC electronics when you prefer a separate, replaceable battery. Compare the complete cost of shell, battery, charger and needed cables with a packaged power station.
