Those features make it an interesting option for a small shared space where a headlamp beam would keep moving with its wearer. Placement matters: try to light the task without putting a bright source directly at eye level.
What should you know about charging?
The product description specifies a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and an integrated Micro-USB charging port. Pack the correct cable rather than assuming it uses USB-C like newer equipment. A rechargeable lantern suits a trip with a practical charging plan; for a longer trip, work out how you will replenish it alongside your phone and other lights.
Why are we not giving one definitive lumen figure?
The current manufacturer page disagrees with itself: its feature list states 150 lumens, while the specification table and main description state 200. Confirm the exact revision with Black Diamond before comparing maximum output. The table lists IPX4 and high/low runtimes of 5.5/16 hours; these are manufacturer figures, not our measurements.
Would it replace a headlamp?
We would treat it as a companion for stationary use. A light on a table or hanging in a tent does not follow your line of sight while walking or working.
