What we'd reach for

  • B7-Comfort harnessThe comfort-focused flagship full-body harness, pitched on precision adjustment — the top of the current harness wall.
  • CR3-Edge SRLThe leading-edge self-retracting lifeline of the range, in lengths up to 33 feet — check the class rating on the specific model, not the brochure.
  • Quick-Switch tool transfer stationThe dropped-object side of the house — tool tethering hardware for work over people, which earns the second category chip on this page.

Guardian offers fall protection and dropped-object prevention equipment. The useful starting point is the work system you need to assemble and the documentation for its individual components.

One name, four brands

In May 2021, Pure Safety Group — Guardian’s US-based parent — combined its height-safety brands under the Guardian name: Guardian itself, the UK rope and connector house Checkmate, Stronghold by PSG, and the tool-tethering line Ty-Flōt. The company’s stated reason was research: its January 2021 end-user study found Guardian “not only our strongest brand, but the strongest brand in the US construction and general industry space overall” — again, their study, their words. The same coverage carries their headcount figure of 400 safety experts.

The consolidation was thorough enough that the parent’s own domain now serves Guardian pages — puresafetygroup.com lands on the Guardian media center. One name is genuinely all that’s left on the storefront.

What the catalog holds

The current range is a full American fall protection line: the B7-Comfort harness at the top of the wall, the CR3-Edge leading-edge SRL, the A5 concrete expansion anchor — which Guardian lists at a 5,000 lb rating with OSHA and ANSI compliance, a model-level claim — the ecoAnchor non-penetrating roof anchor, and the C7 cable climbing sleeve for vertical systems. Around the core sit an arc-resistant height safety line and a dropped-object prevention range, including the Quick-Switch tool transfer station.

Standing note: ANSI/ASSP Z359 ratings belong to models, not brands. The standards documents are paywalled; every rating you read, here included, is manufacturer-reported compliance for a specific SKU.

Where they fall down

Legacy continuity is an open question. What survived of Checkmate’s UK line inside the unified catalog is not something we could establish from the current site.

Where Guardian fits

Guardian’s catalog covers harnesses, anchors, retractable lifelines, and dropped-object prevention. Compare the components as part of the planned work system, with the correct model-specific documentation, inspections, and rescue arrangements.
